By transporting trucks and exploring the vast state of Texas in the upcoming DLC for American Truck Simulator, you may end up finding a job or two at several large car factories.
Today we will take a closer look at these two automobile plants and their impact on the local economy and industry.
One of the car factories is located in Arlington, in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, and has been producing cars for more than 60 years. Built in 1954, the size of the facility is currently more than 4 million square feet (about 371 thousand square meters), and we have done everything possible to bring this size as close as possible to the reality in the game. It’s safe to say that an area producing more than 1,300 cars a day definitely deserves nothing less. Moreover, its production does not seem to be going to slow down in the near future, given that more than a billion dollars have been invested in the plant since 2015.
Another factory can be found south of San Antonio, and in real life it belongs to one of the leading car manufacturers in the world. They say that every 60 seconds a new car comes off the assembly line, which gives a clear idea of the high level of production. In addition to the 2.2 million square foot facility (about 204,000 square meters), there is also a railroad in the nearby area, along which manufactured cars are transported by trains throughout the country.
